The story follows journalist Rae de Leon’s investigation into the case after a woman is prosecuted for making a false report for alleged rape. Rae de Leon conducts a solo research on this subject and uncovers the situations that were turned against the victims in similar incidents. Traveling to different parts of the United States, the journalist discovers that young women who report being sexually abused have been arrested, accused of making false statements in their pursuit of justice, and convicted by the system they trusted.
